Rutherford, N - Memories of an Army Surgeon

SKU: 1st Edition
£55.00

Stanley Paul, London, 1939. 256 pages, index, illustrations. The author rose to the rank of Colonel in the RAMC and this memoir is largely about his experiences during and just after WW1 although he does not often mention dates. He saw service in Salonika and finished up in Constantinople. Rutherford's style is somewhat anti-establishment and non-PC by today's standard, nonetheless this is a lively and humerous account of his experiences. Handling wear to red cloth boards, sl sunned spine, no dj, light foxing. Sentiment ffep. Scarce. G-.
