Philip Allan, London, 1925. 328 pages, index, illustrations. The author, Major General Sir Edward May, was a Royal Artillery Officer serving in the later part of the 19thC. This autobiography is full of ancedotes and keen observations of people and places. There are numerous mentions of British officers, many of whom are perhaps not well known historically. May's service included appointments in Ireland, India and South Africa (Boer War). Sl handling wear to black cloth boards, no dj, former owner's inscription on fep, browning outer pages. G.
