Privately published, printed by Simpson, Devizes, 1926. Large format. 148 pages, index, lists of officers for the period, casualty lists, honours and awards, illustrations, only three of six maps present in rear pocket. Some of the chapters have appendices. An excellently produced regimental history the main part of which is a detailed account of the Regiments experience in the First World War. The Regiment arrived in France as part of the 3rd Cavalry Brigade on 18 August 1914 and served and fought on the Western Front until the end of the war. After the war the Regiment served in Egypt and India until amalgamation with the 5th Lancers. Handling wear and sl soiling to red cloth boards, gilt on blue regimenatal device on front board, sl darkened spine, no dj. G-. Scarce/rare. Please note that this book weighs 1.225kg without packaging.
